At-Home School Events

Hello!

Today I wanted to share some of the great at-home school events my ASB team and I have planned. As we all know, it has been difficult to connect during this time. This is especially true for larger schools but because Ideate High Academy is a smaller charter school, we have the advantage of easily reaching all of our students and keeping our community unified. ASB has continued l worked throughout this time. We began with looking through activities we would do in person and changed perspective to find a way to do the event virtually. We ended up seeing that we could still, in fact, host a variety of events. These include movie nights, game events, and spirit weeks. Below are some photos of posters of these events. We held a school wide spirit week with photos sent in and videos shared of experiences each day. We also organized a school game night with online games and resources to the participants. It was a great experience learning and working with others in our community in order to come together as one. We have worked to make sure students are also safe and comfortable at home during this time. It has been very encouraging overall.

All in all this has been a positive experience for our ID8 family. Although this pandemic has cause lots of harm, we have been able to push to grow closer from this time. I have enjoyed my time as inner communications officer in our Associated Student Body. We have worked hard to build a safe space for the students of Ideate this year. I wish the best of luck to those who come after us and this has only proven our love for one another; ow we are more united than ever!
